1) The creation of an environment where all children, families and staff are treated with respect and equality, and the diversity of cultures and backgrounds are acknowledged, supported and appreciated. Staff will foster children's self-esteem and confidence through supportive behaviours and language.
2) Staff will maintain professional and respectful relationships with each other, children and families at all times, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment. Staff will use behaviour management strategies which promote safe and positive behaviour. Grievance procedures will be followed at all times to ensure a harmonious and safe environment for all parties.
3) Staff will encourage family and community involvement and feedback through the Management Committee and School Council (which includes representatives from the local community, school community, parents and staff), community link programs, family feedback forms and daily verbal feedback. All communication is taken seriously and considered, with needs of individuals and the community taken into account in planning programming and policy making.
4) Management will ensure that policies, departmental regulations and procedures are regularly addressed and strictly adhered to, recognising the importance of these in providing high quality care. All staff will work together to ensure that O.S.C.A.R.S. Inc. standards remain highly accredited.
5) Staff will ensure that all children have access to holistic programming; encompassing physical, creative/aesthetic, cognitive and social/emotional development. Such programs will be developed in consultation with staff, children and families to maximise children's potential in all pursuits and will take into account children's development, interests, cultural backgrounds and abilities. Programs will be regularly updated and evaluated to reflect the needs of the children.
